St John Lee, Hexham
- Private Client
- Residential refurbishment and extension
We were appointed as architects to fully refurbish and extend a Grade II listed four-bedroom stone-built home located near Hexham, Northumberland.
Squires Barnett took the existing listed features of the house and used their design skill to combine the old details with new. Working closely with both the clients and local planning officer, Squires Barnett were able to achieve planning permission for the extensive works proposed and the house was extended to the North including a glass roof, designed to span the existing farmhouse yard, joining the existing agricultural outbuilding to the main farmhouse to create an open family kitchen and dining space.
The existing building was completely remodeled internally to create a more spacious and fluid family home with the external areas benefiting from a terrace area set within landscaped gardens for social summer evenings.
